Storyteller

Navida has been telling stories for many years to young and old alike. She tells folktales, fables & fairytales from around the world, ancient myths, old stories with new twists, and original stories based on paying attention while living life. Her stories are enriched with original music – a song, a chant, and accompaniment with a violin, a piano or a drum.

Navida has told stories in schools, libraries, community centers, museums, parks, playgrounds and in partnerships with arts organizations. She tells trickster tales, why stories, tales of transformation and adventure, stories without endings and stories about “Planting the Seeds of Peace”. Navida believes a story needs active listeners and she gently guides the audience to be part of her storytelling.

Navida’s solo performance pieces for adults include URBAN ZEN, Watch Like a Sparrow, about her father and OCD, and Mrs. Christofoli’s Daughter for a Day. She has several storytelling pieces in development, including the telling of the Greek myth of Narcissus from Echo’s POV and the story of Demeter and Persephone.
